Christmas FES

Once again the children have had a great time at FES as they have met with their friends and enjoyed the classroom context of learning. This is the one FES in the year that we don't head down to the rec-club to go swimming as it's far to cold for us. It only gets up to 30 oC in the shade. As with last year all the kids went carol singing to various homes in Ouagadougou and finishing of at the American Ambassador's residence. After singing heartily we were all treated to nibbles, savory for the drivers (Me as well as a few other parents) and sweets and cookies for the kids.
One of the fun things the kids got to do during FES was to make gingerbread houses out of digestive biscuits and decorated them with sweets and other sickly stuff. On looking at the constructions I'm surprised they made it back to our apartment with most the sweets still intact!!! Not sure if they will make it back to Djibo intact as Amelia insists it travelling on her knee. With Sam sitting next to her I don't think this construction stands much of a chance.
